Rules

The entry must be a single chapter or excerpt from a book, not to exceed 10,000 words.
All entries must be uploaded electronically through our online system.
Acceptable files are Word, Rich Text, or PDF. File not to exceed 1 MB.
Entry into this contest costs $15.00 USD. We only accept payments made through our secure PayPal server. You do NOT need a PayPal account to pay by credit card.
You may submit more than one chapter or excerpt but each will be judged individually and are subject to the $15.00 USD submission fee.
The book must be in the English language.
Open to residents worldwide with a valid shipping and email address.
The entry must be submitted no later than midnight Pacific Time on July 31^st, 2008. Entries received after this time will not be accepted and may still be charged.
Employees of The Author’s Bookstore or their families or the families of the judges participating are not eligible.
The grand prize of the contest is $1,000 USD and a marketing package that includes a worldwide press release and 500 booksmarks. Ten first-prize winners will be awarded $50 USD.
Winners of the contest are to be determined by a panel of judges and are irrefutable.
